Soviet Order of the Red Star #2972866
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.05 mm in width, 47.37 mm in height and weighs 30.3 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in nice condition with all details crisp. The enamels are problem free apart from a chip on the very tip of the 5 o’clock ray of the star. The silver on both sides shows a medium dark patina and its screw has not been shortened. The well fitted nut is time period to the order.
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service; prior to the creation of the long service awards.
