Soviet Order of the Red Star #2959236
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.76 mm in width, 46.66 mm in height and weighs 29.8 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent condition with all details crisp and flawless enamels. Even the higher laying parts of the soldier show light wear only. The screw appears to have been repaired as a thinner part must have been soldered on top of the thicker lower part. This is barely noticeable and must have been done a long time ago judging by the patina pattern on its reverse which clearly shows the shape of the replaced nut.
The Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service; prior to the creation of the long service awards.
