Scarce ‘Broken’ or ‘Curved’ Bayonet sub-variation
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.15 mm in width, 46.16 mm in height and weighs 31.9 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In pristine condition with all details crisp. The stunning red enamels are flawless without dings, scratches or repairs. The silver base on both sides show an appealing patina and its screw has not been shortened. The nut is time period to the order and fits well.
Only Red Stars in the serial number range from #2791072 to #2795998 have a curved bayonet. Scarce as such
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
