Order of the Red Star #2088533
Relatively uncommon variation manufactured by the Moscow Platinpribor Factory (MZPP)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.53 mm in width, 46.69 mm in height and weighs 30.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In excellent condition with light wear to the higher laying parts like the soldier. The red enamels are well preserved and without repairs or flaking. Both sides show a nice toning to the silver and its screw has not been shortened. The order comes with its time period nut.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
