Soviet Order of the Red Star #1908161
Relatively uncommon variation manufactured by the Moscow Platinpribor Factory (MZPP)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.39 mm in width; 46.85 mm in height and weighs 29.2 grams. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This original order is in excellent condition with medium wear to the higher laying parts like the soldier. The red enamel is problem free without repairs and few dings and scratches only. Both sided show an appealing toning to the silver and its screw has not been shortened. The nut fits the order perfectly well but is of a later period.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
