Order of the Red Star #1808356
Relatively uncommon variation manufactured by the Moscow Platinpribor Factory (MZPP)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.61 mm in width, 46.48 mm in height and weighs 29.7 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In nice condition with light wear to the higher laying parts like the soldier. The red enamels are beautiful and without repairs or flaking. Both sides show some scratching and a medium toning to the silver. Its screw has not been shortened and the time period nut fits the order well.
Probably awarded in the summer of ’45 so with nice research potential
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
