Awarded to Lieutenant Mihail Pavlovich Mokrausov (Михаил Павлович Мокраусов)

 

For conducting numerous reconnaissance raids behind the enemy line and delivering valuable intelligence regarding the enemy positions and forces, personally eliminating several German soldiers, capturing pillboxes and being wounded

Made of silver and enamels. The order measures 49.10 mm in width, 47.22 mm in height and weighs 29.5 grams without its screwplate. The serial number is located at the 6 o’clock position and the mint mark on the 12 o’clock position of its reverse. This early variation has a round base ‘heel’ of the screw.

 

In worn but decent condition. The higher laying parts show light to medium wear but and most amount of details is still visible. The enamels on the 9 o’clock ray of the star is replaced but fully present and original on the other arms. The reverse is in excellent condition and shows a dark patina. The screwpost is full length and the order comes with its time period silver screwplate.

Recognisance on foot platoon commander, 396 rifle regiment, 135 rifle division, 39 army, Kalinin front.

Recommendation for order “RED BANNER” :
Comrade MOKROUSOV exhibited courage and bravery in the combat engagements against the German invaders during 25-30 November 1942.
Comrade MOKROUSOV conducted numerous reconnaissance raids behind the enemy line and delivered valuable intelligence regarding the enemy positions and forces. When the 6th rifle company commander was taken out of action, Comrade MOKROUSOV assumed the command and lead the company into assault at the hill “Bliznetsi” (“Twins”). With the same rifle company, on 26 November 1942, he force crossed the river Molodoj Tud. He and his unit was among the first to rush the outskirts of the village Bortniki. On 27 November 1942, he conducted reconnaissance in force in the forest behind the village Linevo and delivered valuable intelligence regarding the enemy positions and personally eliminated several German soldiers. On 28 November 1942, he participated in capturing German pillboxes in the village Urdom. On 30 November 1942, he participated in the siege and blockade of a German pillbox in the village Urdom and was wounded. Comrade MOKROUSOV deserves to be bestowed with order “RED BANNER”.
