Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits

“In the combat engagements for the village Karolin, Białystok region, on 12 July 1944, comrade DZHAVAKHSHVILI exhibited his high combat skills and excellent management of his machine-gun.
He efficiently provided covering fire to our rifle company crossing the river Zelvyanka, which enabled the company to advance forward and capture the village Karolin.
On the hill 195.0, the enemy attempted a counter-attack supported by armour. Approaching from a rye field, the enemy attacked our riflemen. Comrade DZHAVAKHSHVILI opened intensive flanking machine-gun fire at the Germans, cut them off of their tanks, and forced them first to the ground, and then to run away. DZHAVAKHSHVILI’s machine-gun fire left over 30 enemy dead bodies on the battlefield.
The enemy counter attack was frustrated.
For excellent machine-gunnery during our attack and for fending of an enemy attack, comrade DZHAVAKHSHVILI deserves to be bestowed with order “RED STAR”.

Signed by the commander of 624 rifle regiment
Lt.Colonel REZINKIN
21.07.1944″
