Soviet Order of the Red Star #1511472
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 48.97 mm in width, 46.66 mm in height and weighs 31.1 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in superb condition with stunning dark, wine red enamels. The higher laying parts like the soldier show light wear and all details are still visible. There are few contact marks on either side and the order shows an appealing patina. Its screwplate is time period to the order and its screw has not been shortened.
Probably awarded during the spring of 1945 so with nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
