Order of the Red Star #1299432
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.31 mm in width, 47.46 mm in height and weighs 30.1 grams without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
In excellent condition with light overall wear. The enamels are very well preserved and show a tiny superficial chip on the 7 o’clock ray only. The details of the higher laying parts on its obverse are well preserved and both sides show a medium patina to the silver. Its screwplate is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
Probably awarded during the first months of 1945 so nice research potential.
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
