Soviet Order of the Red Star #1157735
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 49.74 mm in width, 46.98 mm in height and weighs 31.4 gram without its screwplate. The mint mark is located above, and the serial number underneath the screw post.
This order is in nice condition with a fair amount of details still visible. The higher laying parts on its obverse show medium wear and both sides show an appealing dark patina to the silver. The enamels are well preserved apart from a superficial chip on the right side of the 12 o’clock ray. The nut is time period to the order and the screw has not been shortened.
Nice research potential. Probably awarded during the winter of 1944-1945
The Soviet Order of the Red Star was given to Red Army and Navy personnel for exceptional service in the cause of the defense of the Soviet Union; in both war and peace. Also awarded for 15 years of service prior to the creation of the long service awards.
