Awarded to Guards Senior Lieutenant and squadron navigator Kirill Semyonovich Dubovoy (Кирилл Семенович Дубовой)
For conducting 46 successful combat missions (3 daylight and 43 night) among which against Brest and Auginsburg
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 40.22 mm in height, 36.62 mm in width and weighs 24.5 gram. The serial number and the mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
The order is in a nice, above average condition with medium wear on the higher laying parts such as the center wreath and the torch. The red enamel is in better condition than most early Red Banners. It only shows enamel loss on the 3 o’clock ray of the center ster and the bottom of the top banner. The white enamel is flawless. The order has not been converted to a suspension type and the screwpost is full length. It comes with its time period silver screw plate.

“Sr. Lieutenant DUBOVOY has been flying on an IL-4 aircraft as a squadron navigator. He is a part of a night crew: crew commander Lt. STRELCHENKO, gunner-radio operator Sr.Sgt. IVANOV. He has been serving in the active fields forces from the first days of the Patriotic war. In this period, he conducted 46 successful combat missions (3 daylight and 43 night missions). He has excellent knowledge of the aircraft bomb and firearms systems and utilises them efficiently during the combat missions. He flies during both day, night, and adverse weather conditions. He is fearless in battle and hates the enemy. He participated in the bombing missions against the enemy military and industrial targets deep inside the enemy territory: 1 mission against Brest, 1 mission against Auginsburg; He is experienced in his trade and loves it. He constantly works on improving his skills. He is demanding towards himself and and his subordinates. As a cultural and disciplined officer, he is an example for other servicemen of his unit.
He is devoted to the cause of party Lenin-Stalin and the Socialist Motherland, and fully fits to his role in the unit.
He deserves state award – order “RED BANNER”.
