Order of the Red Banner #513519
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 44.71 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.49 mm in width and weighs 25.0 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In excellent condition with most gold plating still present. The higher laying parts on the obverse show light wear and the details are still all crisp. The red and white enamels are beautiful and without repairs and show some contact marks only. The reverse shows few dings or scratches and its connection ring has been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
