Order of the Red Banner #494851

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 44.85 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.37 mm in width and weighs 25.1 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.

In excellent condition with most gold plating still present. The higher laying parts on the obverse show light wear and the details are still perfectly visible and crisp. The red and white enamels are extremely well preserved and without repairs or scratches. Its reverse shows few dings or scratches and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and old ribbon.

The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
