Soviet Order of the Red Banner #417952
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 44.99 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.18 mm in width and weighs 25.0 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
This order of the Red Banner is in near mint condition with crisp details on the higher parts on the obverse. The red and white enamels are beautiful and flawless and most gold plating is still present. There are no repairs and the connection ring has been cut. Its double layer suspension is time period to the order as is the ribbon.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
