Order of the Red Banner #416289
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.28 mm in height including its eyelet, 36.28 mm in width and weighs 24.2 grams without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In excellent condition with a dark patina to the silver on both sides. The raised areas on its obverse show virtually no traces of wear and its details are still perfectly visible and crisp. The red and white enamels are very well preserved and without repairs or scratches. Its reverse shows very few contact marks only and its connection ring has not been cut. The order comes with its time period double layer suspension.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of this Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
