He demonstrated courage and bravery in battles with the German invaders. During the battle for nameless heights, the enemy launched a counterattack with the goal of restoring their position and driving our units from the nameless heights. Platoon commander Silonov was at the front of the battle line. The Germans surrounded Silonov with the goal of capturing him. The courageous commander engaged the superior enemy, and six Germans attacked him. Silonov killed three Germans with submachine gun fire. Although wounded, he did not leave the battlefield, and killed two more Germans. Bleeding profusely, the brave soldier continued to fight until his men arrived.

Comrade Silonov is worthy of a governmental award, order of the “Red Banner”.
