Krasnokamsky Mint (KMD) variation
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 37.80 mm in width and 45.37 mm in height and weighs 24.5 grams without its suspension. Its serial number and mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In excellent condition with most details visible. The higher laying silver parts like the center wreath show light to medium wear. The enamels are well preserved without repairs and show some small dents and contact marks only. A fair amount of the original gold plating is still present and both sides are covered with a layer of medium dark patina. Its connection ring has been cut and the order comes with its time period suspension.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of the Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
