Description
Researched Soviet Order of the Red Banner #28260
Awarded to Guards Colonel Fedor Yakovlevich Shved (Федор Яковлевич Швед)
For destroying several bridges, tanks, railways and allowing a safe retreat at the Battle of Moscow
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 40.16 mm in height, 36.01 mm in width and weighs 20.5 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
The order is in a nice, above average condition with most gold plating still present. The higher laying parts such as the centre wreath and the torch show medium to strong wear but still have a fair amount of details visible. The red enamel is mostly present and in far better condition than most screwback Red Banners. There have been two repairs on the left side of the top banner and the 3 o’clock ray of the centre star. The white enamels are pristine. Its screw has not been shortened and the order comes with its time period and well fitting silver screwplate.
