Order of the Red Banner #197232
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.65 mm in height, 37.56 mm in width and it weighs 27.8 grams without its suspension. The serial number and curved mint mark are located at the 6 o’clock position of its reverse.
In nice condition with most details visible and medium wear to the raised silver parts. The red and white enamels are problem free and without repairs and show some dings only. Some of the original gold plating is still present and both sides gathered a medium patina over time. The order comes with its time period double layer suspension and its connection ring has not been cut.
The Order of the Red Banner recognized military deeds. Before the establishment of the Order of Lenin, the order functioned as the highest (and practically the only) military order of the USSR. Practically all well-known Soviet commanders became Cavaliers of the Order. Also awarded to NKVD personnel.
