Being a deputy regiment commander during 01-09 July 1942, during the defence phase on the left river bank near the Chernavsky bridge, he personally led the attack of two battalions. On 11 July 1942 near the Agricultural Institute, he and a group of 27 riflemen successfully defended against an enemy attack by superior force and inflicted heavy casualties on the enemy.
As the result of all the battles in the city of Voronezh, 41 regiments under MIRONOV’a command destroyed: up to 600 Fascists, 5 bunkers, cleared the area of Agricultural Institute, the city park next the “Dynamo” Stadion. This effort enabled further advance of the Red Army.
In addition to that, 109 snipers were trained in the regiment under the leadership of comrade MRONO. During their combat deployment among the field troops of 40 Army, 457 enemy soldiers were eliminated.
By 01 February 1943, as the result of the regiment operative and guarding activities, there were detained and processed: 238 servicemen strayed from their units, 325 servicemen who escaped enemy encirclement, 229 former POW, 604 without proper document on them, 8 deserters.
