Awarded to Guards Sr. Sergeant Ivan Tikhonovich Vodolazsky (Иван Тихонович Водолазский)

 

For personally destroying 4 machine-gun positions and up to two platoons of enemy troops in Czechia

 

Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order measures 43.19 mm in width, 44.60 mm in height and weighs 27.8 grams without its screwplate. Its serial number and mint mark are located on the bottom of its reverse.

In superb condition with crisp details and almost no traces of wear to the silver base. The beautiful red and white enamels are without repairs and are free from dings, scratches and flaking. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.

Recommendation for order “PATRIOTIC WAR I CLASS”:
During the period of combat operations, comrade VODOLAZSKY was working as a gun commander and proved himself as an experienced, brave, and courageous commander.

On 24.04.1945, in the combat engagements for the settlement Újezd, the gun under effective command of Sgt. VODOLAZSKY was delivering precise and rapid fire at the entrenched enemy troops. His gun destroyed 3 machine-gun positions and up to a platoon of enemy troops, which allowed our infantry to advance forward and capture a new objective.

On 26.04.1945, in the combat engagements for the town Brno, his gun was deployed on an open firing position and was subjected to enemy machine-gun fire. The gun fired at the entrenched enemy troops and destroyed an enemy machine-gun potion and scattered up to a platoon of enemy troops. Also his suppressed an enemy mortar battery, which harassed our troops and impeded their advance. As the result, our infantry was able to advance forward.

He deserves to be bestowed with order “PATRIOTIC WAR I CLASS”.
