Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 24.9 gram without its screwplate and measures 45.18 mm in width and 46.44 mm in height.
This original order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in nice condition with its details crisp. The enamels shows several small dings and scratches but no flaking or repairs. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.
Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“Technical Lieutenant DEDOVETS participates as part of the 62th Assault Aviation Regiment in the defeat of the German invaders from 06/22/41.
During his stay in the 62th Grodno Order of Suvorov Assault Aviation Regiment, he proved himself being a hard-working, not knowing getting tired, officer – director. For the maintenance of 357 trouble-free combat missions, he was awarded the order “RED STAR”.
Continuing in his military work unit, technic – Lieutenant DEDOVETS served in more than 414 trouble free combat missions, 112 repairs were made, 7 motors were replaced. In preparation of the material to a combat flight exercise he showed reasonable initiative, resourcefulness, in spite of any difficulties in the work. The materiel is always ready on time. For example: on 09/29/44, two aircraft returned to their unit from a mission with damages: – incapacitated aileron left wing, slaughtered break system of the landing gear and a broken propeller blade. 6 hours were needed to restore the materiel. Thanks to good organization, initiative and a maximum of personal involvement the aircraft were put into operation beyond 3 hours and 20 minutes.
On 10/24/44 one aircraft returned from a mission, requiring an engine change, which requires 24 hours. During night time, technical Lieutenant DEDOVETS skilfully organized the force of the technical staff and personally took part in the work, so that the motor was replaced in 14 hours, and in the morning was ready for a trial in the air.
On 02/03/45 an aircraft of its flight group came back from a mission with a broken air-chassis system, a broken tire left wheel chassis. Before the next flight remained 55 minutes, thanks to good organization, manifested a reasonable initiative and resourcefulness, the aircraft was restored within 47 minutes, resulting in the aircraft on time took off to perform the next combat mission. Technician Lieutenant DEDOVETS, regardless of the time, day and night, for days without leaving the aerodrome, gives all his energy and knowledge for timely and qualitative preparation of materiel for combat missions.
For the good organization in the preparation of the materiel for combat missions, for the punctual work of materiel parts when executing combat missions in the air, for his hard work is worthy governmental award – ORDER “PATRIOTIC WAR” – 2nd DEGREE.”
