Awarded to Master Sergeant Andrej Sergeevich Maksimov (Андрей Сергеевич Максимов)
Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 26.4 gram without its screwplate and measures 44.77 mm in width and 45.97 mm in height.
This original order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in nice condition with its details crisp. The enamels shows several small dings and scratches and some minor chipping but no repairs. It comes with its original, time period screwplate and its screw has not been shortened.
Brief description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“Comrade MAKSIMOV Andrej Sergeevich exhibited courage, bravery, and discipline during the offensive operations. Such as, during the forced crossing of Vitula river, comrade MAKSIMOV maintained uninterrupted telephone connection on a 6km stretch, which assisted the advance troops in their operation on the other river bank. On 25-26 January 1945, operating under enemy mortar and artillery fire, comrade MAKSIMOV repaired 17 telephone breaks on the line stretch: Gorsin – Slesin – Gabrielin – Suchary – Altlinden. This ensured uninterrupted signalling capability to the Command during the combat operations.
Comrade MAKSIMOV deserves state award order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.”
