For example, on 28 February 1945, being on the forward observation post near the settlement Litenova (?), comrade NIKITIN spotted three tanks and enemy infantry concentration. The enemy was preparing for a counter attack. Comrade NIKITIN, risking his own life under dense enemy artillery-mortar fire, ran to the observation post of the army level artillery battery commander and reported the targets. The battery opened massive fire and the tanks were hit and the infantry scattered. The enemy counter attack was frustrated. Comrade NIKITIN systematically shares his wast spotter experience with his subordinates.
