For three combat missions and sinking two ships
Made of solid silver and gold. It measures 42.57 mm in width, 47.40 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 27.5 gram without its suspension. The serial number is located at the 7 o’clock position on the reverse. The minimum known number of this variation is 12655 and the maximum known number is 32653.
This order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in nice condition with beautiful enemals. Most details are perfectly visible and even the higher laying parts like the hammer and sickle show light wear only. The reverse shows more wear and signs of polishing but the serial number is still perfectly readable. The suspension and screwplate are replacements and its eyelet has been reattached.
Scarce suspension variation for a real submariner!

“During the Patriotic War he took part in fifteen military campaigns on the submarines “Shch-422” and “Shch-402”.
With his participation, eleven enemy ships were sunk. For participation in twelve military campaigns and sinking during their nine enemy ships, he was awarded the “Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd degree” and the medal “For Courage”. In military campaigns he proved himself to be an excellent specialist and courageous and staunch defender of our Motherland. He maintains the material part of his management in an exemplary state. Selflessly and tirelessly maintains a combat watch, accurately and precisely carrying out the orders of the commander. When faced with an enemy, he behaves calmly and acts confidently.
For participation in three military campaigns, in which two enemy ships were sunk and the courage and bravery shown during their sinking, he deserves the governmental award”
Shortly after Nikitin was transferred from the Щ-402, it was accidentally sunk by a soviet torpedo bomber, killing the entire crew
