Awarded to Captain Ivan Alexandrovich Ryzhov (Иван Александрович Рыжов)
For courage and bravery during the offensive and taking control over the town of Chernovtsi
Made of solid silver, gold and enamels. The order weighs 29.6 gram without its screwplate and measures 45.25 mm in width and 47.39 mm in height. Its serial number and curved mint mark in two lines can de found on the bottom of its reverse. On the bottom left a stamped ‘7’ can be found, often referred to as a ‘makers mark’. The minimal known serial number of this variation is135146 and the maximum number is 169988.
This original Order of the Patriotic War 2nd class is in excellent condition with its details crisp. The enamels are beautiful without repairs and show some small dings and contact marks only. Its reverse is in even better condition and shows almost no wear. It comes with its time period silver screwplate and its screw is full length.

He has been part of the forward operation group since the beginning of the enemy defence breakthrough operation near the settlement Yurovka and later on near the settlement Yukhimovtsi. Despite the great complications experienced during the offensive and adverse bad muddy road conditions; he always ensure combat coordination between the units.
He exhibited courage and bravery during the offensive and taking control over the town Chernovtsi.
For courage and fearless attitude exhibited in combat, for skilful combat command, he deserves state award – order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.
