Soviet Order of the Patriotic War 1st class #22800
Awarded to Major Ivan Andreevich Karasev (Иван Андреевич Карасев)
For rapid advance of the regiment and successful achievement of the combat objectives while being subject to heavy enemy machine-gun, mortar, and artillery fire
Recommended for the Order of the Red Banner
Made of solid silver and gold. The medal measures 42.93 mm in width, 47.92 mm in height including the eyelet and weighs 26.2 gram without its suspension. The suspension is 32.63 mm in width at its widest point and 21.56 mm in height. The serial number is located at the 7 o’clock position on its reverse. The suspension ring, screwplate and the suspension itself are all original.
This original order of the Patriotic War is in excellent, far above average condition. The details are crisp and the order has not been (re)converted. The enamels are pristine apart from some minor contact marks; not even the top ray of the red star show damage which is usually the case. Its reverse is in great condition as well and its connection ring has not been cut.
Hard to upgrade in this condition. Rare as such!
Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:

He participated personally in crossing over the aforementioned rivers, while being subjected to heavy enemy machine-gun, mortar, and artillery fire.
He deserves state award – order “Red Banner”.”
