Variation 1 with 4 rivets
This order of the October Revolution is made of solid gold, silver and enamels. It measures 43.91 mm in height and 43.35 mm in width. It weighs 32.2 gram without its suspension. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the centre of the reverse. This early variation with 4 rivets is made out of three parts; the base piece, the pentagon centre piece showing the Aurora cruiser and the gold hammer and sickle. The minimum known serial number for this variation is 2 and the maximum known number is 58327.
This original order is in excellent condition with flawless enamels. and crisp details. The serial number and mint mark are also crisp and there are few minor contact marks only. Both sides show an appealing dark patina. The gold hammer and sickle is original to the order and its connection ring has not been cut.
Stunning piece, next to impossible to upgrade and with a very low serial number!
The Order of the October Revolution (Орден Октябрьской Революции) was instituted on October 31, 1967. This was due to the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. It was conferred upon individuals or groups for services furthering communism or the state. As well as for enhancing the defenses of the Soviet Union, military and civil. It is second highest Soviet order, after the Order of Lenin.
