Description
Soviet Order of the Badge of Honor #39535
Very early ‘flatback’ variation (apx end 1943)
Made of silver and enamels. It measures 34.03 mm in width, 50.98 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 36.3 gram without its suspension. The minimum known serial number for this variation with a ‘hollow’ or downward curved mintmark is 32938 and the maximum is 45027. Since there is overlapping with the numbering of other variations, it is believed that less than 10,000 of this sub-variation were produced.
The order is in an excellent, well above average condition for such an early piece. Its details are still crisp and the order shows light wear on its higher laying parts only. The separately soldered lettering ‘CCCP’ is authentic to the award and an interesting ‘chip’ on top of the 3rd ‘C’ can be seen which appears to be some sort of production error. The enamels are beautiful and without repairs or chipping. The order comes with its time period double layer suspension and uncut connection ring.
Hard to upgrade and early piece. Scarce as such
This order conferred on citizens of the USSR for “outstanding achievements in production, scientific research and social and cultural activity”.Â
