Awarded to Guards Major General of the armored corps Vasilij Vasilievich Koshelev (Василий Васильевич Кошелев)
For inflicting extensive losses upon the enemy troops destroying 5 SPGs, 8 anti-aircraft guns, 9 APCs, over 300 vehicles, 22 radio stations, 7 aircrafts, 7 canons, 88 mortars, over 200 machine-guns, over 6000 German troops. Stalin himself mentioned the tank corps and its troops as especially distinguished in the liberation of the Lublin city

Made of solid gold, silver and enamels. Measures 49.25 mm in width, 47.91 mm in height and weighs 31.2 grams without its screwplate. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located on its reverse.
In excellent condition with flawless enamels. Its details are perfectly crisp and the raised silver medallion of the order show light wear only. Its reverse is in superb condition without any noticeable dings or scratches. There have been no repairs to the order and screw has not been shortened. Both sides show an appealing medium patina and the order comes with its time period and well fitted silver screwplate.

“Comrade KOSHELEV exhibited courage and bravery in the combat engagements on the Lublin and Warsaw sectors, and in the battle for Lublin city. Comrade KOSHELEV constantly controlled and commanded the troops during the battle, in which the tank corps troops captured Lublin city and inflicted extensive losses upon the enemy troops and equipment.
During the combat period 21-27 July 1944, the tank corps troops destroyed 5 SPGs, 8 anti-aircraft guns, 9 APCs, over 300 vehicles of various types, 22 radio stations of various types, 7 aircrafts, 7 canons of various calibers, 88 mortars, over 200 machine-guns, and eliminated over 6000 German troops.
Decree issued by the Supreme Command in Chief Marshal of USSR comrade STALIN mentioned the tank corps and its troops as especially distinguished in the liberation of the Lublin city.”
