Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.08 mm in width, 48.94 mm in height and weighs 24.3 grams without its suspension.
In great, above average condition considering it’s an early piece. The enamels are problem free and well preserved without repairs and show some small dings and scratches only. The higher laying parts show light to medium wear and most details are still visible. Its connection ring has been cut and the order comes with its time period double layer suspension and old ribbon.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits:
Comrade Kurakin has been serving in the battalion since August 21, 1944. He took part in the combat operations between August 24, 1944 and August 26, 1944. Serving with platoon leader Polukarov’s tank crew as the turret gunner, he fired the main gun with great precision and inflicted heavy losses in troop and materiel.
During the advance near Khilvu and Puru, his tank crew in one day of fighting destroyed 3 cannons, 1 personnel carrier, 3 cargo trucks, 10 horse-drawn carts with their horses, and 1 automobile and killed 25 German soldiers and officers.
Comrade Kurakin deserves to be awarded the Order of Glory, 3rd Class.
