Awarded to Private Ivan Panteleevich Bosiy (Иван Пантелеевич Босый)
For participating in the assault and liberation of Novorossiysk where he was severely wounded in his left arm which had to be amputated
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.11 mm in width, 48.64 mm in height and weighs 24.1 gram without its suspension.
In excellent condition with most details visible and relatively few dings and scratches to the silver. The higher laying parts like the tower and wreath show light wear. The red enamels are beautiful and without chipping or repairs and have minor contact marks only. Its connection ring has not been cut and the order comes with a time period ribbon and suspension.
Short translation of the research:
Comrade BOSIY served in the armed forces of USSR in the period 12.1939 – 09.1944 in the capacity on an artillery loader and senior artillery spotter.
In the period of the Patriotic war 1941-1945, he participated in the combat operation for assault and liberation of the town Novorossiysk. He was conducting his artillery fire correction mission when he was severely wounded in his left arm on 16.09.1943.
He was medically treated at the medical battalion facilities, where his left arm was amputated. He was further hospitalised at the evacuation hospital №2117 in the town Sochi during 22.10.1943 – 09.09.1944.
This is confirmed by the wound certificate issued by the evacuation hospital №2117 on 09.09.1944. He is a Patriotic war disabled of the 3rd group, disability document II №183573 issued on 08.07.1976.
At present, he works in the kolkhoz “Iskra” and has good working evaluation. He actively participates in the social activities for patriotic education of the youth. He enjoys respect among the fellow villagers.
The award recommendation has been drafted and approved with the first secretary of the Communist Party office PASHOLOK N.K. and the head of the district executive committee comrade DEMYDENKO L.S.
CONCLUSION: He deserves state award – order “PATRIOTIC WAR II CLASS”.
