Description
Soviet Order of Glory 3rd class #440043Â
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 45.79 in width, 48.13 mm in height and it weighs 23.6 gram without its suspension.
The obverse of this order is in excellent condition. The higher laying parts like the clock in the tower show wear but most details are perfectly visible. The enamel is all present and without repairs and minor flaking only. The reverse shows several scratches and dings but the serial number is perfectly readable. The order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension with a replaced stickpin and old ribbon. Its connection ring has not been cut.
Probably awarded in the spring of 1945 so with good research potential
The Order of Glory, modelled closely upon the Tsarist Cross of St. George, was awarded to non-commissioned officers and soldiers of the armed forces, as well as junior lieutenants of the air force, for bravery in the face of the enemy. A person initially received the third degree, and would subsequently be promoted to higher degrees for further acts of bravery.
