Order of Glory 3rd Class #358439
Awarded to Sapper and Private first class Pavel Savelievich Grosov (Павел Савельевич Гросов)
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 45.28 mm in width; 48.02 mm in height and weighs 23.2 gram. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This order of Glory is in excellent condition with all details present and problem free enamels with some minor contact marks only. There are several minor dings and scratches but almost unnoticeable with the naked eye. Its connection ring is still intact and its double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal.
Brief and specific description of the personal feat or merits
“Under enemy rifle and machine-gun fire, he led his squad into the mine clearing mission at the 84 rifle division sector on the night of 13-14 January 1945. Being skilled in his trade, he personally deactivated 22 antitank mines and 6 antipersonnel mines. Comrade GROSOV honourably fulfilled his duty in clearing safe passages through the minefield. He personally guided through a group of 10 tanks without a single loss.
On 14 January 1945 at 21:00, he received a combat objective to reconnoitre the bridge across the river Pilica. He accomplished his mission under enemy fire and fully executed his commanders order.
Comrade GROSOV is worthy of a state award – order “Glory III class”.”
