Awarded to Guards Sergeant Major Nikolaj Gordeevich Kostin (Николай Гордеевич Костин)
For killing 3 and capturing 7 Germans with a group of cavalrymen on horseback(!) when attacking a group of Germans in 1944. Comrade Kostin was wounded 4 days later while being in the firing position but he did not go to the hospital
Made of silver and enamels. Measures 46.24 mm in width, 48.66 mm in height and weighs 22.7 grams without its suspension.
In nice, about average condition for this number range. The enamels are fully present without repairs but show some superficial flaking. The higher laying parts have their details mostly visible with medium wear to the spasskaya tower. Its connection ring has been cut and the order comes with its time period double layer steel suspension and old ribbon.
Not often seen awards for a cavalrymen on horseback !

On 24.6.44 in a battle of encounter with the enemy, Comrade Kostin with a group of cavalrymen on horseback attacked a group of Germans and in the course of that killed 3 Germans and captured 7 Germans. On 28.6.44 Comrade Kostin was wounded while being in the Firing Position, but he did not go to the hospital.
