Order of Glory 2nd class; Made of silver and enamels. Measures 47.04 mm in width, 49.16 mm in height and weighs 21.4 grams. The serial number is located on top of its reverse.
This original order is in nice condition with most gold plating present and an attractive medium patina on both sides. The red enamel is problem free and only shows some very tiny flakes. Much less than average. The order comes with its time period steel suspension and its connection ring has been cut.
Scarce award in above average condition with interesting research!
Brief, concrete description of his feat of arms or achievements:
“On the night of 16-17 March 1945, he was a member of a reconnaissance team on a mission for capturing an enemy prisoner-informant. Having penetrated into the area 1.5 km behind the enemy line west of the settlement Prusy (Latvia), they established an ambush position at a main road. When two walking German soldiers approached the position, ZUBAREV was among the first to rush the enemy. One German was killed. The other one was captured and delivered to the regiment headquarters.
On their return trip, they encountered a group of German soldiers and opened fire killing several of them. Our reconnaissance squad suffered no casualties and returned back to the base. The captured prisoner-informant provided valuable intelligence.
He deserves state award – order “GLORY III CLASS”.”
