Order of Alexander Nevsky #27277
Awarded to the Estonian Sr. Lieutenant Roland Aleksandrovich Paemurd (Роланд Александрович Паэмурд)
For for leading a unit with tank support in Latvia in a preemptive assault, seizing fortified enemy positions including a railway station, capturing a strategic crossroads, and successfully repelling enemy counter-attacks while personally accounting for 65 enemy casualties.
Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 51.1 mm in height, 50.0 mm in width and weighs 40.4 grams without its screwplate. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position underneath the screw.
In excellent condition with few dings and scratches to the silver and most details visible. The enamels are generally well preserved and without repairs but show a superficial chip on the top ray. Much of the original gold plating is still intact. The screw has not been shortened, and the order comes with its original, time-period, and well-fitted silver screw plate.

Short Description of his feat of arms or achievements:
Senior Lieutenant PAEMURD R.A. exhibited courage and military skill in a combat engagement near the manor Pils-Blidienes muiža (Latvian Soviet Socialist republic) on 19 March 1945.
While expecting an enemy counter-attack during the night at 05:00, the company under his command (32 men strong) with tank support blocked 2 enemy bunkers and infiltrated into railway station building, which was turned into a fortress by the enemy. Utilising a diversion manoeuvre by his troops, he capture crossroad and a commanding height. The enemy attempted a counter-attack, which was repulsed with numerous casualties to the enemy troops. Comrade PAEMURD eliminated 65 Fascist during the course of the war.
He deserves state award order “RED BANNER” [later changed to a Nevsky].
