Awarded to Captain Vasily Stepanovich Lyubushkin (Василий Степанович Любушкин)

For the Battle of Berlin!

Made of solid silver and enamels. Measures 51.11 mm in height and 50.06 mm in width. It weighs 42.74 gram. The serial number and the mint mark Monetni Dvor are located at the 6 o’clock position underneath the screw.

This original order of Alexander Nevsky is in great condition with no enamel damage. Most details are visible and the higher parts of the order show little wear. The gold plating on the wreath, sword and arrows is mostly present as is the gilt on the pollaxes. The screw has its full length and it has no repairs. It comes with its time period screwplate.

A beautiful piece!!!

Short Description of his feat of arms or achievements:

“On April 28, 1945, during the capture of the Hohenzollern Canal [and a] bridgehead near Shtupel [approximate transliteration], he was stationed at an observation post and under heavy enemy fire he commanded an artillery battalion (consisting of three of the regiment’s batteries).

He destroyed two antiaircraft guns, suppressed two artillery batteries, and killed up to a company of enemy soldiers and officers.
During the fighting on May 1, 1945 near Wustral [approximate transliteration], his battery killed up to a platoon of enemy soldiers and officers, thus allowing for our infantry to push forward unhampered.”
