Medal for the Salvation of the Drowning
Made out of gilded brass. It measures 32.07 mm in diameter, 37.13 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 17.6 grams without its suspension.
The medal is in superb condition with all details crisp and full gold plating. It has no dings or scratches and even the higher laying parts show minor wear only. Its suspension and ribbon are time period to the medal.
Beautiful piece, next to impossible to upgrade
Awarded to any person (of any nationality) for courage; bravery and selflessness whilst rescuing a person/people from water. Also awarded for outstanding resourcefulness preventing drowning or for excellence in organizing of rescue operations in Soviet waters or of Soviet citizens.
