Soviet medal for the Liberation of Prague

 

Variation 1a with a separately soldiered eyelet and less detailed rays and wreath on the obverse of the medal

 

Comes with its document dated 9th of March 1946 awarded to Lieutenant Ivan Borisovich Belenky (Иван Борисович Беленький)

 

 

Medal for the Liberation of Prague: made of gilded brass. Measures 32.27 mm in width, 37.47 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.3 gram without its suspension.

 

This medal for the Liberation of Prague is in nice condition with a substatial part of its original gold plating present. There are several dings and scratches which gives it a nice ‘combat look’ while still showing lots of details. The brass, double layer suspension is time period to the medal. The document is numbered A 190762 and is in nice condition too.

 

Awarded to Soviet service personnel who took part in the liberation of Prague between the 3 and 9 May 1945.
