Soviet Medal for the Development of Virgin Lands
Variation 2 with a round eyelet
This Soviet medal for the Development of Virgin Lands is made out of gold plated brass. The medal measures 32.08 mm in diameter, 37.11 mm in height including its eyelet and weighs 14.4 gram not including its suspension.
The medal is in excellent condition with all details crisp and few contact marks only. Most gold plating is still present and the medal comes with its time period suspension.
Awarded to all Soviet workers who helped cultivate 36,000,000 hectares of previously uncultivated lands in Kazakhstan; Siberia; the Urals; the Volga area and the northern Caucasus for two solid years from 1954–56.
