Medal for the Defense of the Polar Region variation 1
Made of brass. Measures 32.17 mm in width, 37.25 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.3 gram without its suspension.Â
This medal is in nice condition with crisp details and light wear to the higher laying parts only. Both sides show several dings and scratches but none distracting from the overall appeal of the medal. Some of the original luster is still present and the medal comes with a brass suspension.
The Medal “For the Defense of the Soviet Transarctic” was awarded to all participants in the defense of the Soviet Arctic region – soldiers of the Red Army, Navy and troops of the NKVD, as well as persons from the civilian population who took part in the defense of the North.
