Medal for the Defense of Stalingrad variation 1 WW2

Medal for the Defense of Stalingrad: made of gold plated brass. Measures 32.11 mm in width; 37.26 mm in height, including the eyelet. It weighs 15.3 gram. 

This medal is in excellent condition. Both sides show perfect details and much gold plating. The double layer steel suspension is original to the medal as is its connecting link with soldered ends.

A beautiful piece!

Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of Stalingrad between July and November 1942.
