Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1b-2 WW2
Variation with a raised rim on its obverse and a small distance between the ends of the naval cap tally
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.14 mm in width, 37.15 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 16.0 gram without its suspension.
This original medal is in a fair but worn condition. There are several small dings and scratches and some of the details of the higher laying parts like the faces of the soldiers have worn off. A small amount of the gold plating is still present and the double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal. Its connection ring has not been cut and its ribbon is time period to the medal.

This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
