Soviet Medal for the Defense of Sevastopol Variation 1a (first production)
Variation without a raised rim on its obverse
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.15 mm in width, 36.99 mm in height including the eyelet and it weighs 17.1 gram without its suspension.
This medal is in decent condition with medium overall wear. There are several dings and scratches on both sides but most details like the facial features are still visible. The double layer steel suspension and (cut) connection ring are time period to the medal.
Scarce!
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defense of Sevastopol. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defense of Sevastopol during its siege by German forces.
