Soviet Medal for the Defense of Odessa
Variation 1 with a separately attached eyelet
Made of gilded brass. Measures 32.34 mm in width, 37.71 mm in height including its eyelet and it weighs 17.0 grams without its suspension.
This medal is in decent condition with medium to strong overall wear. There are several small dings and scratches and especially the higher laying parts like the soldiers and the lighthouse lack some details. Its reverse is in similar condition but clearly shows the edges of the lettering. The double layer steel suspension is time period to the medal and its connection ring has been cut.
This medal was awarded to all participants in the defence of Odessa. Both to soldiers and civilians, who took part in the defence of Odessa during its siege by German forces.
