“Comrade Rundaev, in battles for the Soviet Motherland against the German invaders, showed courage and bravery. On October 3, 1942, in the area of Bolshoy Vasyukov, he was at the forefront of the fighting, personally engaging with the enemy and with his unit capturing a German strongpoint. On January 26, 1943, he led a counterattack in the Bolshoy Vasyukov area, storming an enemy stronghold. Despite being wounded, he continued to lead his unit and held the position until reinforcements arrived. His actions led to significant enemy casualties and the capture of important documents and weapons. His determination and command were crucial in securing the area.
His skillful leadership and personal example of courage inspired his soldiers, contributing significantly to the overall success of the mission. He fortified the captured position with strong wooden structures, creating a formidable defense line against the enemy.”
