Also included in the picture gallery are the citations for his Order of the Patriotic 1st and 2nd class and his Red Star. An excerpt of the translation can be read below:

Lieutenant Georgiy Zheltov served as a combat engineer officer on the Leningrad Front from 1942 onward. As commander of a sapper platoon in the 910th Separate Sapper Battalion, he repeatedly distinguished himself through courage, leadership, and engineering skill under enemy fire.

In January 1944, his platoon constructed crossings, roads, and defensive positions through swampy forest terrain while under intense enemy fire, ensuring uninterrupted transport and ammunition supply for advancing Soviet forces. For these actions he was awarded the Order of the Red Star.

During the Soviet offensive of June 1944, Zheltov led an assault group tasked with capturing a bridge across the Sestra River before it could be destroyed by Finnish troops. His unit dispersed the defenders, killed eight enemy soldiers, and captured the bridge intact, allowing Soviet armor and vehicles to advance rapidly. For this feat he received the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class.

In February 1945, during battles in Latvia, Zheltov personally led sappers in repelling repeated enemy counterattacks while constructing a bridge under heavy fire. His determination and personal bravery inspired his men to complete the mission successfully. He was subsequently recommended for the Order of the Patriotic War, 1st Class.
