Medal for the Defense of Leningrad: made of gilded brass. Measures 32.12 mm in width;Â 37.49 mm in height, including the eyelet and it weighs 17.5 gram.Â
This medal is in excellent condition with perfect details and most gold plating still present. The double layer suspension is time period to the medal.
Awarded to all Soviet military and civilians who participated in the defense of Leningrad between September 1941 and January 1944. The Medal was a World War II campaign medal established on December 22, 1942. It recognized the valor and hard work of the Soviet civilian and military defenders of Leningrad during the 872-day siege of the city by the German armed forces.Â
